Meta Ray-Ban Display puts a screen in AI glasses and a wristband on your arm. What it does, its $799 price, battery life, new features and where you can now buy it.

Meta Ray-Ban Display are AI glasses with a full-colour display in the right lens, controlled with the Meta Neural Band wristband. They cost $799 with the band in the US, launched only in US stores, and since September 23, 2026 are on sale online in the US, in Canada and the UK, with France, Italy and Germany from October 13. They show messages, live captions, translations, walking directions and Meta AI answers. Battery lasts up to six hours.
Meta Ray-Ban Display is Meta’s first pair of AI glasses with a screen. A small full-colour display in the right lens shows messages, captions, directions and answers from Meta AI, and you control it with a wristband, the Meta Neural Band, instead of touching the glasses or your phone. Meta launched it in the US on September 30, 2025 at $799, and at Connect on September 23, 2026 it added new features and put the glasses on sale in more countries. What Meta Ray-Ban Display does
According to Meta’s product page, the display appears at your command and disappears when you don’t need it. It handles:
- Meta AI with visual responses: ask a question and see the answer in the lens, or get step-by-step instructions with visuals.
- Messaging: read and reply to WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram messages and texts from your phone, with quick replies, images and video messages.
- Live captions and translation: captions of the conversation you are in, and written translations of what someone says.
- Navigation: turn-by-turn walking directions with a map in the lens. Meta says walking directions extended to London, Paris and Rome in 2026, and at Connect it added voice-activated cycling directions and real-time transit departures (later in September in the US and Canada) and walking directions that use landmarks, such as “turn left at the yellow house”.
- Hologram calls: after a short self capture in the Meta AI app, a photorealistic version of your face for WhatsApp calls, driven by your voice. Early Access starts for US users later this fall.
- Camera: preview, frame and capture photos and video, with a viewfinder in the lens and two-way video calls.
- Everyday widgets and media: reminders, weather, stocks and calendar; Spotify playlists; Instagram Reels, stories and posts.
- Teleprompter: paste notes or a script from your phone and read them without looking away.
The Meta Neural Band
The band uses electromyography (EMG) to detect the signals in your wrist muscles, so small finger movements can scroll, tap and select. Meta says it has an IPX7 water rating and comes in three sizes. It also enables Neural Handwriting, which lets you write messages with a finger on any surface; Meta released it in early access for WhatsApp and Messenger in the US in English.

Price and where to buy
Meta Ray-Ban Display costs $799 including the Neural Band in the US. When it launched, Meta sold it at limited stores including Best Buy, LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut and Ray-Ban stores, and on January 6, 2026 it paused plans to expand because of unprecedented demand and limited inventory. That changed at Connect on September 23, 2026: online ordering opened in the US, online and retail sales began in Canada and the UK, and pre-orders started progressively in France, Italy and Germany ahead of sales on October 13. Prescription lenses in France and Italy come through EssilorLuxottica optical stores from October 13, and later in the year in Germany. Who Meta Ray-Ban Display suits
- Suits: buyers in the US, Canada, the UK and, from October 13, France, Italy and Germany who want to read messages, captions or directions without lifting a phone, people who present and want a teleprompter, and anyone curious about wrist-controlled computing.
- Doesn’t suit: anyone outside those markets, and people who mainly want a camera for video, where Ray-Ban Meta records at a higher resolution and costs far less, from $449 for the new Gen 3.
Privacy
The glasses have a camera and microphones. Meta says the capture light lets others know when you are capturing content or going live, and it notifies you if the light is covered. Tell people when you record and follow local rules. You manage privacy and accessibility settings in the Meta AI app.
