Universal Digital Assistant

How we work

Editorial policy

Last updated

Universal Digital Assistant publishes news, comparisons and guides about AI assistants, voice assistants and the devices they run on. These are the standards every page follows.

Independence

We are not owned by, or affiliated with, any company we cover. Companies cannot pay for coverage, review what we write before publication or change a verdict. If we ever add affiliate links or sponsorships, they will be clearly labelled on the page where they appear and will never influence which products we recommend.

Sourcing

  • Every product claim — a feature, price, model name or release date — is checked against the vendor's own announcement or documentation, listed with its full web address in the Sources section of the page.
  • Where a vendor has not published something, we name the report we rely on and say so.
  • We do not publish rumours as facts. Unconfirmed information is labelled as such.

Testing and comparisons

Comparisons start with a short, direct answer, followed by a feature table and the reasoning behind the verdict. When we compare assistants, we run the same real-world tasks through each one and describe what we observed rather than repeating marketing claims.

Dates and updates

News is dated when published. Guides and comparisons show an "Updated" date whenever facts or recommendations change, and assistant pages show the date their facts were last checked against vendor sources.

Corrections

If we get something wrong we fix it promptly and, where the error was material, add a note to the page explaining what changed. Report errors to [email protected].

Use of AI tools

We cover AI assistants, and we use them — for research leads, transcription and first-draft help. Nothing is published without a human editor checking facts against primary sources and taking responsibility for the final text.

Language and tone

We write plainly, keep paragraphs short and avoid hype. Words such as "revolutionary" or "game-changing" do not appear in our coverage unless we are quoting someone.
